Johanna’s kirtan album Heart Beats One has been nationally recognized, launching a national tour and full time dedication to the healing practice of chanting and yoga. Joss Jaffe combines reggae and kirtan to create a blend of sounds all his own. Following his critically acclaimed new release Dub Mantra Sangha, featuring 14 acclaimed artists including Donna De Lory, Shimshai, Jai Uttal & Wah!, his live events are lively and engaging. Joss will be accompanied by Portland based Johanna Beekman, a rising star in the world of yoga music and kirtan.
Meet Joss: Joss Jaffe performs as a Vocalist and Multi-Instrumentalist. He has performed at events & festivals in the US, Europe and Japan. As a composer and producer he has created innovative new music including Svara Mandala, Echosystem and Dub Mantra. Joss has collaborated with numerous artists including Grammy Award nominees Jai Uttal, Silvia Nakkach and Dave Stringer and Grammy Award winner Mykal Rose of Black Uhuru. Along with touring, Jaffe also spreads his knowledge through classes and workshops drawing upon his extensive experience studying with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan from 1997 to 2009.

We will gather at Mishkan Ananda, a private loft in Emeryville CA. Mishkan, a sacred gathering space, often translated as the Tabernacle, a portable dwelling place for the divine presence. Ananda, meaning bliss or joy in Sanskrit, and the name of one of the principal disciples and a devout attendant of the Buddha.
